Our take on the Audi SQ5
Let's start with acceleration. The quoted 0-60mph time is 5.1 seconds, which is even quicker than what Audi claims. Thanks to its big 3.0-litre capacity engine producing 349 horsepower and 369 NM of torque, most of the torque is available in the lower rpm range. This means the SQ5 pulls in any gear, and the engine has a nice grunt at the higher end of the rpm range, allowing it to reach its top speed of 155mph.
Now let's talk about handling capability. Simply put, the Audi SQ5 handles very well. The suspension has different settings, and in dynamic mode, the suspension stiffens up to provide extra grip. However, the steering doesn't provide much feedback from the road, and there's not as much feel as you would get in an Audi. Putting the car into a dynamic mode makes the steering a bit heavier, but it still lacks feel.
Despite this, the steering is precise, and driving the Audi SQ5 feels much like driving a go-kart. Whichever way you turn the steering wheel, that's the way the car will go.
